Founded in 2017, Motorway is now the UK’s fastest-growing used car marketplace. We connect people selling their cars directly with our network of thousands of verified car dealers, matching each seller on our platform with the dealer who most wants to buy their car.

This new approach delivers more value to both car owners and car dealers. Sellers get much more for their car and can do so from the comfort of their homes, while dealers have a new way to buy stock quickly and easily online, direct from private sellers.

We’re used by over 5,000 car dealers nationwide, who buy up to 1,000 privately-owned cars a day on our platform. A car sale is agreed through Motorway every four minutes and we are rated ‘Excellent’ by Trustpilot with over 40,000 reviews by car owners. We officially achieved unicorn status at the end of 2021, when we were valued at over $1bn.

Over the past five years, have grown from three to over 350 people comprising more than 35 nationalities, mostly based in our London and Brighton offices. As a technology company working to build a better car market, our Product, Design and Engineering team numbers is central to our business. Numbering more than 110 people, this team ensures we put the customer at the heart of everything we do and drives innovation through the company, pushing the boundaries of technology and creating the customer experience of tomorrow.
