I am Fergie, an associate software engineer in T Rowe Price.
I developed an interest in technology from a young age, inspired by my dad’s career in the industry. Learning more about women in tech motivated me to pursue a path in a traditionally male-dominated field and to help inspire greater representation. I enjoy learning new things and exploring tools that improve the way I work, as it exposes me to new technologies and broadens my perspective. Alongside this, I have always loved bringing people together. At university, I founded the coding society, where I organised workshops, field trips and industry talks to give students a greater exposure to opportunities in tech.
Since joining the industry, I have continued to support students and early-career talent through events and networking sessions, with the aim of helping them better understand the industry and feel more confident about pursuing a career in technology, especially young women.
