I am Holly and I am a software engineer at Dunelm. From a young age I have had an interest in tech.
This was enhanced by my brother and sister, who were both my role models and involved in tech in their careers. I pursued a degree in mathematics and computer science at University. During this, I found my passion and enjoyment of frontend programming, building a final year project, a personal website, and a algorithm visualisation project. Since joining Dunelm, I’ve learned so much about both frontends in React and backends in AWS. I began as a graduate software engineer before accepting an early promotion opportunity into a full time role. I am proud to have worked with a wide variety of amazing colleagues who have helped me grow into the engineer I am today. I have experienced plenty of challenges to get to the place I am in now, but all those challenges are building blocks I have used to empower myself and those around me. In the future, I look forward to growing my technical skills, as well as my personal network. I hope to be able to provide a platform to uplift future generations of women in tech.
