Inspiring inclusion at SheCanCode’s International Women’s Day Power Hack

To mark International Women’s Day, we joined forces with Simply Business, our community partner, Tech Redefined, and charity partner, Girls Into Coding, for a Power Hack to help inspire inclusion and close the diversity gap.

Our amazing attendees joined us at Simply Business‘ offices in London to create solutions designed to help inspire and improve inclusion within the workplace.

These included ideas such as an app to support carers, putting them in touch with others in a similar situation, allow people to become part of like-minded groups and share events; an app to connect mentors with mentees, with profile images removed to reduce unconscious bias; and a coding games website for children to encourage young girls to get into coding.

The day was made possible by the support of our sponsors Simply Business, Checkatrade, Domino Printing and Planit, who also provided us with some talented tech mentors to support the attendees throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, for your incredible work throughout the day and to our community partners, sponsors, and volunteers who made it all possible.

If you’d like to join us at our next Power Hack event, join our community and be one of the first to know when a new Power Hack or other SheCanCode event drops.
