Social mobility in the workplace essentially means individuals can apply, secure and succeed in roles above what is deemed their social class.

Your social status can be affected by a number of things such as income, the job you hold, education, and where you live. Those born into lower income families, are less likely to have the same opportunities as someone from a more privileged background.

There are a number of ways businesses can tackle social mobility including, looking at alternative career routes such as paid internships, working with schools and universities, and nurturing talent from all backgrounds.
