Mivy James CITP FBCS is a board-level technology and transformation leader and Chief Digital Technology Officer & Chief Architect for UK Defence.
With 30 years’ experience spanning software engineering, enterprise architecture, cyber security, and large-scale transformation, she has led the creation of Defence’s digital backbone and established federated governance through CTO councils, architecture boards, and technical design authorities across the Defence technology enterprise. Previously, Mivy spent 19 years at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, including as Digital Transformation Director and Head of Consulting, advising senior leaders across UK government on strategy, modernisation, and delivery of complex programmes. A Fellow of BCS (The Chartered Institute for IT), Mivy is widely recognised for her innovation and influence in technology and cyber security, with multiple industry accolades. She is also a prominent advocate for inclusive leadership, founding and chairing a global gender-balance network and mentoring women in tech.
