The winners for the 2023 Top 50 Women in Engineering Awards have been announced!

In celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, the 2023 WE50 Awards are celebrating the female engineers who are engaged in safety and security and who #MakeSafetySeen.

International Women in Engineering Day celebrates all the amazing work that women engineers across the globe are doing. This year’s theme is #MakeSafetySeen and highlights the work that women are doing to keep us safe, whether at work or leisure, at home or online, emphasizing best practices for women in hardware.

Amongst the winners are Chisom Akujobi-Ezeonyeka, Power Electronics and Systems Engineer at Rootwave; Natasha Dunkinson, Aerospace Engineering Degree Apprentice at BAE Systems; and Patrizia Carpentieri, Principal Blast Engineer at Arup.

Chisom, the only female engineer at Rootwave, has created a safe and eco-friendly alternative to herbicides. Natasha has a passion for achieving net zero and has worked on projects related to carbon emissions and environmental goals at BAE Systems. Patrizia plays a crucial role in protecting the public from terrorism and security threats.
