I’ve had quite the journey!
After 15 years managing theatre productions in London’s West End, I’m now thriving as a Junior Software Engineer at Trainline—talk about a plot twist! I loved tech since I was very young (I was that teenager obsessed with customising MySpace pages, learning Flash and DreamWeaver, and building computers from scratch in the Y2K!). When the pandemic hit and theatres went dark, I finally reconnected with this passion. I threw myself into coding, got a freelance job that blew my mind, and that’s when I realised I could do this as a job and didn’t have to be a hobby anymore. So I saved up, completed a full-stack bootcamp, and never looked back. The theatre-to-tech leap might seem unusual, but it’s given me an great mix of creative problem-solving and technical skills that I bring to the table every day.
