In 2020, after losing my job in internal audit during the COVID-19 pandemic, I made a decision to start a new career as a full-stack web developer.
I’ve been studying full-stack development from scratch via Udemy online course. Alongside learning, I documented my journey through daily educational content on Instagram and YouTube and posting about my progress on LinkedIn, increasing my profile visibility and building a supportive community of aspiring developers, hoping to inspire more women to learn web development and have more career and financial opportunities.
Five months later, I secured a role in the Data Analytics team at PwC, where I spent nearly three years growing as a technologist. I then moved to London after landing a web developer role, relocating on a Skilled Worker Visa.
Now working as a Technical Lead in a great company, having launched a few side projects, I am on track to apply for a Global Talent Visa while also founding and growing a community dedicated to supporting and empowering women in tech in my home country. I hope more women will realise their dream of becoming a developer and having more opportunities for career growth, financial stability and potential relocation to their desired countries.
