Meri Williams is Chief Technology Officer at international fintech unicorn Pleo, a cloud-based finance management system that issues smart company cards to employees to automate expenses, pays invoices and provides real-time insights into businesses end-to-end spending.
Meri’s role involves leading the technology team, spanning engineering, IT, security, data and analytics, with an especial focus on technical innovation within Pleo’s product.
Meri’s career has spanned development, project, programme and product management, mostly in engineering & operations leadership. Her particular specialty is rapidly scaling technology organisations whilst simultaneously improving their team diversity, inclusion, delivery, technological excellence, and ways of working.
In previous roles Meri has led engineering at Marks & Spencer Digital, delivery at the Government Digital Service, and spent the first ten years of her career at Procter & Gamble, the world’s largest fast moving consumer goods company, before taking roles at fast moving companies including MOO, Monzo and Healx. She’s led teams ranging in size from 30 to 300 across the world and is passionate about helping others to level up as technical leaders and managers of organisations, and works as a CTO coach and tech advisor to various companies in this capacity through micro-consultancy ChromeRose.
