Molly is a junior software engineer at Compare the Market.
Her interest in tech began at the age of 11 when her dad handed her a laptop and introduced her to Adobe Dreamweaver, where she made her first website using HTML. Initially, Molly didn’t consider website building or software engineering as potential career paths and instead pursued her passion for music. Growing up with her marvellous brother Kieran, who is autistic, Molly developed a strong passion for promoting accessibility and inclusion. She combined this passion with her interest in the arts while studying music at university. After graduation, she worked at GoLive Theatre Projects and the BBC, creating and coordinating opportunities for audiences to enjoy live events and digital content. Molly’s interest in coding grew over several years, during which she engaged in Codewars challenges in Ruby and completed a Python course with CodeFirstGirls. In the summer of 2022, an apprenticeship opportunity at Compare the Market arose, allowing her to transition into the tech industry—a field she had long aspired to join.
As a junior software engineer, Molly now collaborates on projects that create new features and optimize customer experiences on the Compare the Market website, helping users get quotes for various insurance and financial products. Outside of work, Molly enjoys baking, walking Lindy the dog and writing nonsense poetry.
