How did you land your current role? Was it planned?

I’d love to say that my journey to Klimato – a leader in climate impact solutions for the food industry – was a grand, strategic master plan. But truth be told, I was headhunted for the role.

Klimato was searching for a senior commercial leader who could do it all—set the commercial strategy, drive sales, optimise the product offering, and build marketing. I was approached for my proven track record of driving commercial growth across multiple functions, and industries.

Truth be told, while I deeply respect the passion for sustainability, it wasn’t what initially drew me to Klimato. My passion has always been about making a commercial footprint—driving growth, delivering results, and building high-performing teams.

Staying true to that, I have focused on achieving measurable outcomes since joining Klimato.

Are there any specific skills or traits that you notice companies look for when you’re searching for roles in your field?

When companies look for leaders in my field, they often focus on strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and the ability to execute bold initiatives. But beyond that, it’s about adaptability and leadership—being able to pivot and make tough decisions when necessary. A collaborative mindset is key, especially when building and inspiring high-performing teams.

I believe companies can be bolder in recruiting from outside their own industry. I’ve worked across transportation, telecom, and SaaS, and I’m a living example that the best leaders often come from diverse backgrounds. Industry knowledge is useful, but what truly matters is having the skills, mindset, and ability to drive change and deliver results.

Entering the world of work can be daunting. Do you have any words of advice for anyone feeling overwhelmed?

Entering the world of work can feel overwhelming, but one piece of advice I always give is to choose your manager over the role. The right manager will help guide your growth, challenge you, and provide valuable mentorship. No role is worth taking if you’re not surrounded by the right leadership.

That said, remember, no one expects you to have everything figured out from day one. Stay curious, ask questions, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes—they’re part of the learning process. Find a balance between being confident in your abilities and being open to learning from others. Growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, so embrace those challenges with a mindset of learning and improvement.

What advice would you give to women looking to step into leadership roles in tech?

The best advice I can give to women stepping into leadership roles in tech is to surround yourself with a great team that always has your back. It’s essential to build a group of people who are passionate, driven, and supportive. But, and this is something I’ve learned the hard way, not everyone you trust will be loyal. Leadership requires resilience. It’s important to be able to—rise again when things don’t go as planned, and to have the confidence to make tough decisions when needed. .

Early in my career, I received advice that has stuck with me ever since: always strive to make a footprint. This idea has shaped how I approach my work—blending creativity with challenging the status quo. I tend to view situations from the outside in, rather than following established norms.”

What are you most proud of in your career, so far?

I’m proud of how I’ve turned businesses around and driven meaningful change by thinking differently.

For example, in 2011, when 4G was still new, I spearheaded the transformation of Mobile Broadband for Tele2. The industry was focused on data volume, but I saw speed as the real differentiator. By launching a full-scale 4G portfolio, we ensured all customers, regardless of data needs, could access high-speed connectivity, setting new industry standards.

During my time as CCO of Three Sweden, we shook up the market by removing all other subscription plans and launching an unlimited data plan with strong roaming benefits. This move disrupted the telecom industry and received an incredible customer response, resulting in monthly growth and reversing years of negative growth. It was a real game-changer.
