She has held various leadership roles, designing and executing strategic initiatives that enhance operational capabilities and support business growth. Isabel’s expertise spans multiple facets of the industry, with a focus on developing innovative solutions and aligning logistics operations with organisational objectives.

How did you land your current role? Was it planned?

My role as Senior Vice President of Global Growth Marketing at AutoStore™ was the result of a natural career progression rather than a meticulously laid-out plan. Every role I’ve taken has been a stepping stone, refining my leadership skills, expanding my expertise in growth strategies, and preparing me to thrive in high-impact environments. This position materialized at the intersection of preparation, opportunity, and ambition—a reminder that being adaptable and open to possibilities often leads to the most rewarding outcomes.

What are the key roles in your field of work, and why did you choose your current expertise?

Growth marketing thrives on a combination of strategy, creativity, and execution. Roles like growth marketing strategists, product marketing directors, operations managers, and sales enablement leaders are pivotal to success in this field. I chose growth marketing because it bridges the analytical with the creative—the art of storytelling with the science of data-driven results. It’s a discipline that rewards collaboration, innovation, and the drive to make a tangible impact, which resonates deeply with my professional values and passions.

Did you (or do you) have a role model in tech or business in general?

Absolutely. Leaders like Sheryl Sandberg inspire me with their ability to champion women in leadership while demonstrating business excellence and authenticity. I’ve also been fortunate to draw inspiration from mentors and colleagues—individuals who challenge conventional thinking, lead with empathy, and consistently push the boundaries of what’s possible.

What are you most proud of in your career so far?

My proudest achievements stem from the teams I’ve built and the transformations I’ve spearheaded. From launching my own company, e3neo, to reshaping how organizations like AutoStore and Zalando are perceived in their industries, these milestones are the result of collaboration, resilience, and a shared vision. More than the outcomes, I take pride in the trust and camaraderie fostered within these teams—relationships that continue to thrive as former colleagues excel in their own careers.

What does an average workday look like for you?

No two days are the same, but a typical day involves a balance of strategic planning, team collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Mornings often start with reviewing key metrics or connecting with my team, followed by focused sessions on strategic initiatives. Afternoons are spent aligning with partners, refining campaign plans, or brainstorming innovative approaches. Amid the pace of the day, I make it a priority to mentor my team and reflect on how we can keep raising the bar.

Are there any specific skills or traits that you notice companies look for when searching for roles in your field?

Companies value leaders who combine strategic vision with data-driven decision-making and the ability to motivate teams. Strong communication, adaptability, and a customer-first mindset are non-negotiables. For leadership roles in growth marketing, balancing strategic priorities with hands-on execution is especially critical.

Has anyone ever tried to stop you from learning and developing in your professional life, or have you found the tech sector supportive?

While skepticism and underestimation are not uncommon, I’ve always focused on what I can control: my growth, skills, and resilience. The tech sector, in my experience, has largely been supportive, celebrating innovation and learning. Every challenge has ultimately been an opportunity to grow stronger and more confident in my abilities.

Have you ever faced insecurities and anxieties during your career, and how did you overcome them?

Absolutely. Stepping into uncharted territory or facing significant challenges can be daunting. I’ve found strength in preparation, seeking guidance from mentors, and reflecting on past successes. Incorporating mindfulness practices, such as meditation, has also been invaluable in managing stress and maintaining focus during pivotal moments.

Entering the world of work can be daunting. Do you have any words of advice for anyone feeling overwhelmed?

Take things step by step and focus on incremental progress. Celebrate small wins, ask questions, and seek out mentors who can provide guidance. It’s okay not to have all the answers; growth happens when you embrace the process. Most importantly, give yourself grace as you navigate new challenges—it’s all part of the journey.

What advice would you give other women wanting to reach their career goals in technology?

Know your worth and don’t shy away from advocating for yourself. Seek out mentors and allies who will champion your growth, and make learning a lifelong habit. When challenges arise, approach them as opportunities to prove your resilience and skills. And as you climb, extend a hand to lift others—empowering other women is one of the most impactful ways to drive meaningful change.
