Swept AI invites a mission‑driven engineer to architect the backbone of a new category—AI supervision.
You will ship v0, shape culture, and prove that careful technology can ensure powerful agentic systems are trustworthy.
Why this role matters
Every generative‑AI workflow needs a safety layer. As the founding engineer, you translate
vision into running code that detects drift, fingerprints jailbreaks, and scales to billions of traces. Your early decisions set engineering standards for years to come.
What you will do
● Design & build the first production service: validation, ingestion, real‑time monitoring,
alerting pipelines.
● Own architectural decisions across back‑ and front‑end surfaces.
● Collaborate daily internally, and with customers, to refine specs.
● Establish engineering culture—set standards for code clarity, mentor others, apply AI as
appropriate.
● Measure impact through accuracy, false‑positive rate, and customer adoption metrics.
What will help you thrive
● 5+ years building complex systems or demonstrable open‑source leadership.
● Clear written communication; comfort designing in the open.
● A willingness to learn through trial & error as a team.
● Hands-on ML/LLM experience (fine‑tuning, embedding search, prompt optimization,
agentic workflow construction) is a plus, not a gate.
Nice to have (skip if it doesn’t fit you today): Python chops, security/privacy mindset,
infrastructure-as-code fluency, data science background, prior startup zero‑to‑one ride.
How we work
● Remote‑first, flexible hours. Most work happens 9 am – 3 pm Eastern; async is welcome.
● PTO that encourages real rest. Our best ideas don’t always come in front of the
computer. We need to step away and gain perspective. To that end, we support
everyone fully unplugging for at least a week every few months.
● Small batches, fast loops. Ship thin slices, observe, improve.
● Care for the whole person. Top‑tier health coverage for families (full coverage w/ HSA),
focus days, caregiver support.
● Traveling for meetups. Though we thrive as a distributed team, we still come together in
person occasionally. Expect a few days away from home throughout the year. It is not
required, but the remote experience of meetups is never quite the same.
Total compensation
● Salary: USD $150k flat across all non-sales roles in the company. No location,
experience, or education modifiers—Founders included.
● Equity: meaningful founding‑level grant.
● Transparent, pay & equity across the organization.
Hiring process (all candidates, same steps)

3. Two structured interviews (product development scenario simulation, culture review).
