TechUP is an initiative focused on training women and non-binary people for tech industry recruitment.
Any woman entering the tech industry faces a challenge but non-binary people and women from marginalised communities and/or lower economic backgrounds face additional and significant hurdles.
Now in its fifth year, TechUP is confronting these challenges, helping women to lift themselves up and change their lives. Based at Durham University in the North East, it is unique in its field.
It is the only programme focusing on women from under-served communities across Northern England. To date, 328 women have been through its programme, with >50% getting jobs in tech as a result, and >60% progressing to further study in tech-related courses.
