I started my tech recruitment career at a time when cobol (yikes) programming was a thing, and the room was almost entirely dominated by men.

Even back then, it was clear to me that our industry was missing out on a massive wave of talent.

My journey to driving change began in the earlier days of the Manchester tech scene when I started my first internal role with On the Beach. I remember sitting in Manchester Digital meetings alongside other tech partners, feeling completely out of my depth but deeply convinced that we had to do more for early careers and female representation.

Fast forward to today, and my passion for that mission has only grown. At Autotrader, I am incredibly proud to champion our Women in Software Engineering (WiSE) community, building, protecting, and scaling safe spaces where everyone has a voice, a platform to connect, and the opportunities to grow.

We have come a long way but there is still so much more to be done to get more women into tech, and I am fully committed to supporting and breaking down barriers for the next generation of digital leaders.
