This year’s theme of ‘Inventors and Innovators’ will be showcasing women engineers who support lives and livelihoods every day.
“We’re profiling the best, brightest and bravest women in engineering, the inventors and innovators who dare to be part of the solution and are helping to build towards a brighter future,” states this year’s INWED website.
Whether you’re celebrating the day as an individual, organisation or educational institution, there are plenty of ways to show your support. INWED22 has a website full of useful resources and ideas – we’ve pulled a few together to help you celebrate.

- Organise an engineering challenge. INWED suggests the following two ideas for teambuilding inspiration:
- Top Five Engineering Challenges To Do From Home
- Alternative Engineering Design Challenges
- For your non-engineering colleagues, host an event using the INWED bunting available to let them know about your amazing work.
- Approach your senior leaders to learn what types of challenges they face and assemble your engineering teams to see how you can tackle them.
- Add the INWED22 banners to your social profiles and email signatures.
- Reach out to a local school or college to create a joint event, such as providing a guest speaker for a meet-up or organising a virtual site tour.
- Create blogs or YouTube content that showcases your female engineers and diversity advocates.
- Pull together a list of awards that you can enter your female engineers for and get writing those entries to highlight their amazing work.
