Reframing Power and Presence in Tech

Most “Women in Tech” events focus on the struggles and barriers women face. But what if we changed the conversation? Instead of just identifying challenges, what if we explored real, tested strategies to navigate power dynamics, assert our presence, and advocate for ourselves, without having to mimic traditional ‘alpha’ behaviours.

This highly interactive, psychology-driven event will combine role-play, collective intelligence, and expert insights to help attendees break free from traditional expectations, challenge power structures, and understand their own authentic leadership style.

Meet the panel:

What will be covered:

  • The psychology of power: Why do we sometimes feel powerless in conversations? How do small shifts in language, tone, and body language affect authority?
  • Framing & Perception: How do workplace cultures shape how we’re heard, and how can we reframe conversations to our advantage?
  • Assertiveness vs. Aggressiveness: The gendered expectations of communication—what works, what doesn’t, and how to break the mold.

Expect deep discussions, live experimentation with assertiveness techniques, and an expert panel featuring a psychologist, a linguist, and tech leaders to dissect the science behind how women are perceived and how to shift those perceptions.
