SAN FRANCISCO: Ditch the B* Stigma! Professional Advancement Workshop for Women in Tech

  • Google Community Space 188 Embarcadero (enter on Steuart Street) San Francisco, CA 94105 United States (map)

Get ready to deep dive and ditch the b* stigma!

Back by popular demand! Our introductory professional advancement session was so well received we’ve expanded it to a half-day interactive workshop.

Do you ever shrink from speaking up because you don’t want to be thought of as difficult? Have you ever worried about the stigma against women being bossy, bitchy or overbearing?

Many women -- including women in tech -- struggle with being assertive because of concerns like these. The problem with not using a strong voice and speaking up: you prevent your personal and professional growth.

Instead of avoiding confrontation, learn how to stay true to yourself while amplifying your power.

Through real-world examples and unconventional problem-solving methods, you’ll learn techniques for developing a self-assured presence that improves your verbal and non-verbal communication, no matter the topic. Building authentic confidence and making your communication style work to your best advantage are crucial to your success.

You’ll get entertaining information, small group discussion, insightful worksheets, fun demonstrations, and a lot of role play.

After this session, you’ll know how to:

  1. Stop apologizing and speak with strength

  2. Deal with mansplainers and conversational bulldozers

  3. Harness the power of tone of voice and body language

  4. Discover and embody your ‘Most Confident Self’ (MCS)

Workshop Format

First, we'll review important yet simple mindset shifts you need to make in order to start communicating with more strength along with specific suggestions on how to use words, tone, and presence in a variety of situations.

Then, we’ll break up into pairs and small groups to put these concepts into practice. We’ll role play real-life scenarios for instant, supportive feedback.

Following role play, we’ll debrief and share our various experiences.

Throughout the workshop, we’ll alternate between discussing principles, role play, and debriefs. This will be a safe place to discuss issues that come up for you.

Kali’s fresh approach will entertain you and equip you with new tools to stop the negative self-talk that can be diminishing, and give you a new foundation for standing in your power.

We'll provide a yummy lunch and plenty of snacks to fuel your day.
